Richardson-Jakway Signage Designs

a series of six outdoor wayfinding signs designed by undergraduate graphic design students in the Department of Art at the University of Northern Iowa
(Spring 2007), as taught by Professor Roy R. Behrens, in cooperation with Dan Cohen and Tony Bengston at the Fontana Interpretive Nature Center (near Hazelton, Iowa) and Candy Streed at Silos and Smokestacks (Waterloo, Iowa). Thanks to everyone for this wonderful opportunity.

On the following web pages, there are sixteen different solutions to the same problem by sixteen different students. Each student designed a correlated set of the six wayfinding signs. Each set has its own page on this website, with each student designated by his or her initials. To browse in sequence, use the yellow button commands of next and back on each page, or to go to a specific page, use the gray buttons that bear the initials (below).
